No, it’s not true. The post is false. The video does not show Benjamin Netanyahu or any recent assassination attempt. What the video actually shows: It’s old footage from January 19, 2013. It shows an attempted attack on Bulgarian politician Ahmed Dogan, leader of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (ДПС), during a party conference in Sofia, Bulgaria. The podium clearly displays the ДПС logo (Bulgarian party). The man at the podium is not Netanyahu. The attacker pointed a gas pistol; no shots were fired, and Dogan was unharmed. Multiple fact-checkers (Lead Stories, Soch Fact Check, etc.) have already identified this exact video as the 2013 Bulgarian incident being recirculated with a false caption.
