Arnold Schwarzenegger woke up from heart surgery and heard: “We made a mistake.” In 2018, he went in for what was supposed to be a routine, non-invasive procedure. He expected to wake up and go home. Instead, doctors told him they had punctured his heart wall. There was internal bleeding, and they had to open him up immediately to save his life. Arnold said he woke with a breathing tube in his throat. He couldn’t speak. The doctors standing over him didn’t look relieved. He was supposed to start filming Terminator: Dark Fate just months later. First, he had to get out of the hospital. At the beginning, even walking down the hallway felt like work. He made it back in time to film. In the video, Arnold tells the story himself. The moment he woke up is hard to forget.
